Mt Kilimanjaro has 5895m high, Africa’s highest mountain and one of the continent’s magnificent sights, It has three main volcanic peaks, Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Mount kilimanjaro have gotten 7 official routes, Marangu route, Machame route, Rongai route, Umbwe roure, Lemosho route, Londorosi route and Mweka route. The name itself “Kilimanjaro” is a mystery weathered in clouds. It might mean Mountain of Light, Mountain of Greatness or Mountain of Caravans.
Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a virtual climatic world tour, from the tropical rain forest on the lower slopes and alpine heath, to an almost bare alpine desert and finally the wintry Arctic summit of snow and ice, just 3 degrees south of the Equator.
The ascent of Kilimanjaro can be done from six routes: Mweka, Umbwe, Shira, Rongai, Machame, and the Marangu Route which is the easier one. Depending on which route one wants to take, the climb of Kilimanjaro can take between four to six nights on the mountain. The two most popular routes are Marangu and Machame.
Mount Meru is located just north of the city of Arusha, in the Arusha Region of Tanzania. It is the second-highest mountain in Tanzania, after Mount Kilimanjaro. Mount Meru is also the highest mountain/point in Arusha Region. The Momella route – which starts at Momella gate, on the eastern side of the mountain – is used to climb Mount Meru.
Much of its bulk was lost about 7,800 years ago due to a summit collapse.[Mount Meru most recently had a minor eruption in 1910.The several small cones and craters seen in the vicinity probably reflect numerous episodes of volcanic activity. Mount Meru’s caldera is 2.2 miles (3.5 km) wide.
WHY TREK WITH US
– We ourselves are guides with over 10 years of experience on these treks. We know the trails, what to look out for, the ecosystem and the animals, and exactly what matters in making this an unforgettable experience for you.
– We provide high quality gear and service. Look, this is Africa and some companies will try to get away with taking your money and sending you on your way underprepared. We ourselves are on the mountain with you, and care that you stay warm, healthy and happy. This includes all details from where you get picked up, to helping you get ready, the delicious food we cook for you, to how to help you over challenges on the way.
– We are local, which is important for quality and price. Other tour agencies sometimes have 3 or 4 middlemen that all need a cut. This increases the price for you and means the guide and porters (who are in the end the most important for you to have a good experience!) get much much less. We know all the best guides directly, and care about paying them fairly. You should too.
